Boats, Battle Day and Birthdays

As ever, we continue to be visited by boats and recent additions have included the Bremen, which is a strengthened ice ship.  It operates voyages down to the Antarctic from Ushuaia, and is a regular visitor here.

We have also had a tall ship enter the harbour, the Europa.   Everyone agreed that the harbour must have looked fantastic when there lots of tall ships breaking their voyages here.  Harry announced it was a pirate ship and they were coming ashore to kill us!  That was an excuse for him to run around with an eye patch and sword for the three days it was here!!

Battle Day came around again, and Simon was part of the parade.  The event is a public holiday here, and commemorates the Battle of the Falklands, which was an important Royal Navy victory after a massive defeat at the Battle of Coronel.  Photos for this one are by Dawn, as Simon was on parade.

The week finished off with Harry's birthday.  As with last year we did a joint birthday including Zoe and Josie in the celebrations as they share the same friends!
